ASMA THE ARCHITECTS

Asma architects is comprised of architects Ivan Tizianel (1970) and Lisa Ros (1973), engineer Bun Yalin (1980), as well as architect Cyril Ros (1970) who is also responsible for asma architects France. Engineer Ear Dom (1975) is occasionally involved with office work.
Tizianel and the Ros siblings studied at the Paris-Belleville School of Architecture, whilst Bun Yalin and Ear Dom were educated at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia.
They started their career together in Cambodia, working on both Siem Reap’s Kantha Bopha Centre and Pochentong International Airport’s Governmental Lounge (Phnom Penh), in concert with architect Ros Borath. These projects appeared in the Phaidon Atlas of Contemporary World Architecture (2004) and the Phaidon Atlas of 21st Century World Architecture (2008) respectively.
 

Asma architects have undertaken many projects in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, including restaurants, hotels, spas, private residences, schools and etc. They have also completed projects in both France and Japan.
The three architects also take part in pedagogical programs. Cyril is a professor at the Paris-Belleville School of Architecture for which Ivan also teaches. The workshops deal with Asian city studies and project development associating Paris, Tokyo and Phnom Penh architectural schools amongst others. Bun Yalin has trained students in structural analysis in an engineering university in Siem Reap.
